Mrs. Brown, I am so sad to hear of your beloved husband´s passing. I feel very fortunate to have crossed your paths twice "on this side of the grass", both as a student and then as a colleague. Mr. Brown was a favorite math teacher, but also a wonderful mentor to us newbies. I wish you and the whole family peace in the abundance of memories. He was a great man.

Mr. Brown was my favorite teacher at VCMS. I was in his pre-algebra class in 7th and 8th grade ('92 and '93), and I still remember the many projects he used to keep math hands-on and fun. He created such an interesting, creative, and joyful class community. In 8th grade, the honors kids who were allowed to leave lunch early would sometimes go hang out with him in the classroom for a few minutes--that's how cool he was. (I recall he kept M&Ms in his drawer.) I have friends who have modeled their approaches to teaching after him. May his memory be a blessing to you, and please know that he touched the lives of thousands of kids at an age where positive role models are so important.

I had Mr. Brown as a Math / Sience teacher in 6th grade. A Math reacher in 8th. He always kept things interesting. He made learning fun, and make you work to your potential. He and his wife, (Mrs. Brown), made the Talent Show a spectacular event. We got an education during that as well. RIP

My sincere condolences to the entire family. I respected him as my friend's father and as a colleague at VCMS. He inspired love and joy in everyone he was around. He had the rare ability to have the perfect balance of joy and seriousness, maturity and innocence, book smarts and wit. I'll never forget driving to Boston with him for a field trip and not being able to get across to the science museum. So many memories. Let me know if I can help in any way during this difficult time.

We are so sorry for your loss! May you all be comforted by friends and family during your grief.
The above tribute brought a memory to mind. When I was a young girl having dinner with the Brown family, Mr. Brown would perform magic tricks.
He was so adept that I was truly duped.
I can remember confessing to my parents that he could really make the salad dressing disappear! He was a caring and attentive father and knew how to make a guest feel like she belonged.
I am praying for you during this difficult time.
