Peter A. Wierzbowski Jr.

Peter A. Wierzbowski Jr. passed away Aug. 4, 2018, in Old Saybrook. He was 38 years old.

Peter is survived by his loving father, Peter A. Wierzbowski; his stepmother, Dee-Ann Wierzbowski; his brother, Robert Wierzbowski; his stepbrothers, Matteo Urella (Christina Urella), and Jeffrey Emil Haddad; and his stepsister, Tia Urella; his grandmother, Rebecca Wierzbowski; his aunt, Brenda Wierzbowski; his uncle, Walter Wierzbowski "Wally." He is predeceased by his mother Karlene Muzio; and his paternal grandfather, Peter P. Wierzbowksi.

Peter was born July 29, 1980, in Rockville. As a boy he loved anything fast on wheels and lived for the wind in his face. He graduated from Stafford Springs High School where he was a multi-sport athlete. He took pride in his work at Skyline Quarry where he was a heavy equipment operator for 20 years. His finesse and dedication ultimately led to a position as foreman of the crushing crew. Towards the end of his life with the support of his uncle Kevin Gordon, Peter spent some time in Florida. He went to the beach every day and enjoyed the time he spent with Gina Marie Riddle. Peter was never happier than on the ocean, fishing on his father's boat and riding a fast motorcycle. He is remembered for his infectious smile, his witty sense of humor and devotion to those he loved.

Peter will be honored in a private ceremony; there will be no calling hours or public viewing.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Old Say-brook Youth and Family Services.
