Raymond Merlo Obituary

Raymond J. Merlo III, 56, lifetime resident of Windsor Locks, entered into Eternal Rest at home on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021.

He was born in Hartford on Feb. 19, 1964, son of Janet (Zenzick) Merlo and the late Raymond Merlo, Jr. Ray was a talented auto repairman and operated his own auto repair shop for many years. He was also a racing enthusiast, especially NHRA drag racing and NASCAR. Ray loved animals, especially German Shepherds who served as his faithful companions over the years. He also enjoyed fishing excursions with his family, and was an avid Red Sox and UConn Huskies fan. Raymond will be remembered for his generosity and ever willingness to help a friend in need, or repair your car in an emergency.

In addition to his mother, Raymond is survived by his siblings, Regina Flynn and her husband, Michael of Windsor Locks, Ronald Merlo and his fiancée, Rachel of West Wareham, Massachusetts, and Ryan Merlo and his wife Kelly, of South Windsor; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Services will be private, at the convenience of the family.

Donations in Raymond's memory may be made to German Shepherd Rescue of New England
