Richard Law Obituary

Richard E. Law III, 48, of Manchester and Milford, passed away peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a short and valiant struggle with liver disease. His parents, Mike (Madis) and Paulette Raudsepp, were at his side as he entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 28, 2014.

Richard was born April 29, 1965, in Manchester, where he attended local schools and participated in many area functions: Boy Scout of America Troop 47, Manchester Order of DeMolay, baseball, archery, cross country, track, and martial arts. He had a passion for aviation and completed aviation maintenance school in East Haddam, where he earned is Federal Aviation Administration Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanic License. Richard was an Army veteran, serving with the 101st Airborne and 4th Calvary in the U.S. and Germany for four years; after his discharge, he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft, UTC, Stratford for 12 years. During his employment, he re-enlisted in the Connecticut Army National Guard 1109th AVCRAD in Groton. He was deployed to active duty during Operation Enduring/Iraq Freedom in Kuwait.

Richard leaves his loving parents, and his friend and uncle, Robert Sablitz of Manchester; his former wife, Sabine Law, and their two children, Bianca Christine and Alexander Travis of Schwanfeld, Germany. He leaves behind Tina Stancil of Georgia.

Rich had a passion for nature and animals and will be missed greatly by his furry friends, his dogs Snoopy, Daisy, and his cat, Missy Fluff. Rich enjoyed landscaping projects to beautify his residences and his parents' home and he always had a tool in his hand, customizing or repairing his motorcycles.

In accordance with Richard's wishes, a military graveside service will be held in the veterans section of East Cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Protectors of Animals, 114 Main St., Unit O, East Hartford, CT 06118. But most of all remember the remarkable man that Richard was and do a kind deed in his memory.
