Richard Arthur Williams, 85, died peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Westerly, RI, surrounded by family.
Born on August 17, 1940, he was the son of the late Roy and Helen Williams. He was also predeceased by his older brother, Bob Williams; his daughter, Keira Williams; and his stepdaughter, Laura Lassow.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Laura Dauphine of Toronto, Canada (with his first wife, Barbara Lauretano); Jason Williams (Jaime) of Scenery Hill, PA, and Amy Porter of Hartford, CT (with his second wife, June Porter); his stepson, J. Cullen (Ruth) of Farmington, CT; and his grandchildren.
Mr. Williams taught in Manchester, CT, schools for 35 years and also served as a track coach. A lifelong tenor, he enjoyed singing in choirs with Marilyn, traveling abroad, and spending summers at Clearwater Lake, Maine. He will be remembered for his dedication to teaching, passion for traveling, and his joy in gathering with friends.
