Robert Kline Obituary
He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Oct. 9, 1964, to James L. and Martha (Patterson) Kline. Rob grew up in Rochester, New York and was a graduate of Churchville Chili High School. He went on to graduate from Rochester Institute of Technology and earned his master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He married the love of his life, Erin, on June 27, 1992, and they settled in Vernon. A mechanical Engineer, he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 35 years. Rob was a loving and devoted husband and father. He devoted his life to supporting his family, especially his children's academic and athletic activities. He enjoyed collecting and riding trains, and playing and coaching tennis. He earned his Eagle Scout as a young man and stayed involved with Scouting throughout his life. He had a special place in his heart for his dogs. Rob was a member of the First Congregational Church in Vernon. A kind, caring, loving, and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many, he will be dearly missed.
Along with his wife Erin, and his parents, James and Martha of North Chili, New York; he leaves his son, Zachary R. Kline of Vernon; his daughter, Sarah L. Kline of Medford, Massachusetts; his brothers, James L. Kline Jr. and his wife, Karen of Churchville, New York, and Michael Kline and his wife, Jennifer of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his mother-in-law, Sharon Godfrey of Lincoln, Nebraska; his father-in-law, John Godfrey and his wife Ida of Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd. (Rte. 83) Vernon. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, 10 a.m., meeting directly at the First Congregational Church of Vernon, 695 Hartford Turnpike, Vernon. Burial will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery in Vernon.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111.

I had a great pleasure working and playing tennis with Robert. I must say that I always enjoyed every minute of it. He was a great teacher who gave his heart to the kids doing his best to be there for them and do the best for his students. I have been known Robert for few years. I always remember him as a gentlemen. Kingdom in Heaven, Robert. Your students and your colleagues will keep memories of you in their hearts and will surely miss you.

Erin & kids,
I´m so sorry for your loss. I sat next to Rob at work for several years, and saw his good heart, his exceptional talent, and his love for his family. He will be greatly missed. I´m praying for you guys as you recover from this tragedy.
If I may share a bit; I had a dream last night of a man my age, except he was somehow young and enjoying paradise. He had a wife and two adult kids back home, but there was no way to call into paradise to connect and talk. Then today I found out my friend Rob had passed. I think this dream was God´s way of giving His reassurance that although it may be a long time before you will reunite and connect again, that all will be well, and that all is well with Rob.

Rob was a super nice, unassuming guy with a mean forehand!(Tennis) I remember him being just a really good person with integrity. Enjoyed the times we played doubles together at Charter Oak park back in the day. My dad worked for Pratt & Whitney for many years, just as Rob did. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and co-workers during this difficult time.
