Sean Finnegan Obituary
1970-2023
Sean Gregory Finnegan, 53, of Andover, passed away on July 1, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, due to injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Son of the late Peter Joseph and Constance (Russell) Finnegan, he was born on April 28, 1970.
Sean is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Dumas); his children, Sean Jr. and Marissa Finnegan of Groton, and Alicia and Christian Kostic of Andover; his sister, Sharon Finnegan of Manchester, several nieces and nephews, and his devoted dog, Myra. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Peter Joseph Finnegan, and his nephew Peter Russell Finnegan.
Sean was a graduate of Manchester High School and was employed by Stop and Shop for 36 years. Sean could never go anywhere without running into someone he knew! Nobody was funnier, and the stories and memories of his larger-than-life personality will live on. During his free time, Sean enjoyed fishing and being outdoors, but most of all spending time with his family. He loved nothing more than the cherished times when the family was all together.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks and gratitude to the incredible staff at Hartford Hospital who provided the best care for Sean.
In place of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice in Sean's name.
Relatives and friends are invited to the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, for calling hours on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family. For online condolences, please visit www.tierneyfuneralhome.com.
