Thomas Wosko Obituary

Thomas A. Wosko Jr., 36, of Somers, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at his home.

Born April 18, 1980, in Springfield, Thomas was a lifelong resident of Somers and was a graduate of Somers High School, class of '98. He was employed as a home healthcare aide for several years and most recently was employed by Valero. The customers who visited the store loved him. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing. He was an avid New England Patriots fan, and also liked going to the casino to play poker. Thomas was also a true animal lover.

He is survived by his father and stepmother, Thomas and Susan (Stender) Wosko of Somers; his mother and stepfather, Ann (Winter) and John DiLorenzo of Suffield; a sister, Alison Dowe and her husband, Kevin, of Suffield; a stepbrother, Michael DiLorenzo and his wife, Cassandra, of Suffield; three nieces, Mckayla and Ava Dowe and Amelia DiLorenzo; and a nephew, Vincent DiLorenzo. Thomas was predeceased by his stepsister, Remy DiLorenzo.

Visitation hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers.

The funeral service to celebrate Thomas' life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 20 Meadowlark Road, Vernon. Burial will follow at Somers Center Cemetery.

Donations in Thomas' memory may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), 20 Batterson Park Road, Farmington, CT 06032; or to the Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111.
