Walter Forrest Obituary
Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late Walter F. and Sophia (Terzak) Forrest. Walter had attended East Hartford schools, worked for Hamilton Standard for 41 years, and Point Staffing at the Southern Auto Auction for 10 years. He was an active member of Hillstown Grange No. 87 for 60 years and the Connecticut State Grange.
Besides his wife, Helene, he is survived by his children, Lisa Mathews, and her husband, Stephen, of Portland, Maine, Michelle DeDominicis, and her husband, Kenneth, of East Hartford, Eric Forrest, and his wife, Allison, of Amston, JoLynne Burlette, and her husband, Mark, of Manchester, Paul J. Forrest of Glastonbury, and Stephanie Mola, and her husband, Eric, of Bristol; and his grandchildren, Geoffrey, Colleen, Erin and Shannon Mathews, Mary and Noella Burlette, Angelina DeDominicis, and Samuel and Amy Forrest. He is also survived by his brothers and their wives, Lawrence and JoAnn, James and Betty, Frank and Betsy, Robert and Liz, Thomas and Jan; his sister-in-law, Fleurette, and her husband, Patrick Beaulieu; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 8:30 a.m. from the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 W. Center St., Manchester, with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at St. Christopher Church, 538 Brewer St., East Hartford. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, May 11, from 4 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hillstown Grange No. 87 Building Fund to support the organization and the building Walter has supported for many years, c/o Michelle DeDominicis, Secretary, 56 Hills St., East Hartford, CT 06118.
