Anna Vondra

ANNA MARIE VONDRA, 90 WARREN - Anna Marie Vondra, 90, of Warren, IL went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014, at her home, following an extended illness. Anna Marie was born on April 2, 1923, in Amboy, Illinois. She was the daughter of Joseph and Anna M. (Krieger) Yohn. She married Vernon G. Vondra on February 5, 1948, at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren, IL. Vernon preceded her in death on January 31, 2007. Anna Marie was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren, she was very active in the altar and rosary. Anna Marie's faith was an example to follow. She loved her family, baking, and had a gift of hospitality. Survivors include 7 sons and daughters, Edward (Marti) Vondra of Boyne City, MI, Jean Vondra of Elgin, IL John (Eunice) Vondra of Warren, IL Jerome (Susan) Vondra of Apple River, IL Vernon Vincent Jr. (Mary Ann) Vondra of Lancaster, WI, Jane (Jack) Soppe of Galena, IL and JoAnn (Dave) Bordner of Dakota, IL; two daughters-in-law, Chris Vondra of Dubuque, IA and Bonnie Vondra of Warren, IL; sister, Rita Baylor of Stockton, IL; special friends, Frank (Connie) Shaler of Boyne City, MI; twenty-eight, grandchildren, Peggy (Matt) Vondra-Speltz, Rick (Teri) Vondra, Chuck (Teresa) Vondra, Shawn (Stacy) Vondra, Andy (Katie) Vondra, Tim (Mandi) Vondra, Deb (Tim) Harwick, Cindy (Jeff) Kopp, Renee (Doug) Weaver, Nathan(Lauren) Vondra, Ryan (Kiersten) Vondra, Tiffany (Jered) Nieman, Megan (Ryan) Harrison, Zachary Vondra, Benjamin Vondra, Justin (April) Vondra, Angela (Noah) Kirschbourn, Jake (Lucy) Vondra, Robert Soppe, Shane (Dani) Soppe, Jonathan (Demi) Soppe, Alicia (Lester) German, Joshua Bordner, Matthew Bordner, Kyle Border, Nicole Vondra, Brett Vondra, and Jamie Vondra; and thirty-eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon in June 2007; sons, James in 2003, and Joseph in 2010. She was also preceded by a granddaughter, Natalie Vondra in 1995, grandson, Damian Vondra in 2006, an infant grandson, Vernon Vincent Vondra Jr., one brother, Raymond Yohn and sister, Dorothy A. Smith. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Warren, IL. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Father Max Striedl will officiate at the service. Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church Cemetery in Warren, IL. A memorial has been established in her memory.
