Karl Klipping Obituary

Karl G. Klipping 1952—2017
Karl G. Klipping, 64, passed away February 15, 2017, in his home, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1952, to Robert and Margery Klipping. After graduating from Forreston High School as an Illinois State Scholar, he completed an Associate of Science degree at Highland Community College in Freeport. He married Christine Malott at Forreston Grove Church on November 4, 1972. Karl served in the Army Reserves from 1972 to 1978. From 1972 to 2016, Karl worked for Micro Switch (Honeywell) as an engineer in the Quality Assurance Department. After 44 years, he retired to enjoy his motorcycles and working on yard and shop projects. He served on the board for the Village of Forreston for four years, and during that time, he participated in the Community Swap Committee. He was also involved in the development of Ogle County's GIS. Karl is survived by his wife, Christine; two daughters, Raina (Bryan) Dyck with their children, Nathaniel and Elizabeth; Adrienne (Sam) Coussens and their children, Nicolas, Victoria, and Remy. Karl was the middle child of seven who survive him, Mary (Dewey) Endress, David (Shirley) Klipping, Terry (Linda) Klipping, Tom Klipping, Gayle (Keith) Arnold, and Wendy (Brad) Lawrence. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Cheryl (David) Graff. Preceding in death are his parents, Robert and Margery Klipping, and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Lois Malott.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, 2525 W. Stephenson Street in Freeport. Pastor Justin Coverstone will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Grace Fellowship Church and the Village of Forreston to assist in completing renovations to the Village Hall.
