Shirley, Sue, Patti, and family, Deb and I are saddened to hear of Mark's passing. Mark's dedication and passion for serving his community, love of family, and political wit is a strong legacy. It was a privilege to have served with him on the County Board, where we had some very lively discussions. His oratory skills and humor made serving with him a real pleasure. Deb and I really enjoyed the time we spent with you all through the years. You have our deepest sympathy and you all are in our prayers.

I was so sorry to read the story of Mark's death. My sympathy goes to the family. From the time we moved to Freeport until we left, Mark formed a part of our memories. I fielded many phone calls when we first moved to town and Duncan was covering city government. He also made an impression on our sons. He was the speaker at our oldest son, Bruce's, Eagle Scout Court of Honor and came to the one for our youngest son, Bill. He would always have a few words for any of us whenever we would see him. He will surely be missed.
