Robert Anderson Obituary
Robert Harold Anderson, 91, of Freeport, died Saturday August 17, 2019 at Manor Court. Robert was born March 2, 1928 in Freeport, the son of Arthur and Thelma (Waldecker) Anderson. Mr. Anderson married Delores Gundry June 9, 1951 at Embury Church. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. Robert worked as a treasurer for Bankers Mutual Life. He enjoyed doing projects and working in his home. He loved big band music and played the saxophone. He was a wonderful husband and father. Robert always looked forward to family vacations at White Lake, Wisconsin. Surviving is his wife, Delores Anderson of Freeport; son, Brad Anderson of Freeport; two daughters, Bonnie (Craig) Erdmier of Rockford and Beth (Doug) Franklin of Naples, FL.; brother, James (Pat) Anderson of Davenport, IA.; six grandchildren, Josh (Janna) Regez of Ft. Myers, FL., Jason Franklin of San Francisco, CA., Brittany (Ryan) Kistenfeger of Collierville, TN, Cassandra Erdmier of Nashville, TN, Nate Anderson and Austin Anderson of Freeport; also surviving are four great-grandchildren, Seth, Miles, Daisey and Ellie. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Jean; and brother, Arthur. Memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday August 24, 2019 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. A memorial has been established for FHN Hospice in Robert's memory. Bob was the consumate business professional, mentor and friend during our Bankers Mutual days back in the 70's. He is fondly remembered and will be missed by all his friends and family. God speed to Bob and my sincerest sympathy to his family.
