Robert Becker Obituary

ROBERT S. BECKER, 83 FREEPORT - Robert S. Becker, 83, of Freeport, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born on March 20, 1930, son of Stanley and Grace (Hicks) Becker in Freeport, IL. He attended school in Orangeville, IL. Robert worked for his father in the Becker egg business until the age of 23 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. He worked as a production engineer in the Chicago area for many years. Robert is survived by his sister, Lavone Rice of Rockton, IL; nephew, David (Judy) Koch of Machesney Park; nieces, Diana (Jim) LaForge of Rockton and Donna and (Rich) Riha of Cherry Valley. He is predeceased by his parents, Stanley and Grace Becker. Cremation rites have been accorded. Interment services will be at Oakland Cemetery in Freeport, IL, on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 10 a.m. in the mausoleum chapel. Pastor Bruce Janes officiating.
