Susan Glover Obituary

Susan L. Glover 1946—2017
Susan L. Glover, 70, of Dixon, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She was employed by the State of Illinois prior to her retirement. Susan was born October 8, 1946, in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of George Wilbur and Goldie Arlene (Gonigam) McKelvey. She married William Robert "Bill" Glover, Sr. on January 23, 1968, in Monmouth. He preceded her in death on August 19, 2012. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dixon, Sister Cities Association, and a lifetime member of VFW. Susan enjoyed doing activities with her husband, Bill, raising labs, fishing, boating, and traveling. She is survived by one daughter, Michelle (Kevin) Countryman of Freeport; one stepson, William R. "Bobby" Glover, Jr. of Alexis, IL; one sister, Patricia (Fig) Taylor of Kirkwood; three grandchildren, Korin Karst, Natalie and Ryan Countryman; four great-grandchildren, Emily and Garrett Karst, Ella Grace Norwood, Aubrie Wright; and many nieces and nephews. Susan was also preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, William McKelvey.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon, followed by a 2:30 p.m. memorial service, with the Rev. Bunyan Cocar, pastor of First Baptist Church, Dixon, officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon. A memorial has been established in her name.
