Alice C. Thorell

January 24, 1942 - May 25, 2025

Alice C. Thorell, 83, of Ashland, Neb., passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025.

Born in Callaway, Neb., to John and Avis Cooley, Alice grew up in Lexington and spent her life as a dedicated educator for over 30 years, 25 of those in Ashland. She was known for her charming wit, intellectual curiosity, love of reading, Audry Hepburn style and dedication in the classroom.

Alice is survived by her son, Corey (Ronilynn) Thorell of Belton, Texas; daughter, Lori Thorell of Bangkok, Thailand; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sister, Sharon (David) Jordening of Germantown, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne; her son, Todd; her parents; and siblings, Kenneth Cooley, Zelma High, and Vivian Von Loh.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date to be determined. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of your choice in her honor.
