Amelia Fardella Obituary

Amelia Carone Fardella, 90, Lincoln, passed away Saturday (5/14/05) at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan. She was born in Maddalone, Italy, on March 3, 1915, to Louisa and Gennaro Carone. She later moved to Naples, where she met Sgt. Frank Fardella, who was serving with the U.S. Army in World War II. They married in 1946. She immigrated to New York, where she lived until after her husband's death in 1974. She moved to Omaha to be near her sons. She was employed at Kilpatricks Westroads in the alterations department until 1976, when she returned to New York and continued working in the clothing industry. In 1994, she moved to Lincoln with her sister, Rose Miano. She became a U.S. citizen in 1972.

Survivors:sons, daughters-in-law, Michael and Tina Fardella, Lincoln, Jerry and Aida Fardella, New York; grandchildren, spouses, Angela and David Harse, Jessica Fardella, Kristina and Paul Jackson, Anna Maria and Tim Smith. Preceded in death by her husband in 1974, her parents, four sisters and one brother.

Services: 11 a.m. today, Butherus, Maser &Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St. Father Liam Barr. Visitation:9 a.m. until services, funeral home. Private family burial, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials:Madonna Foundation.
