Anna Kniep Obituary
Anna I. Kniep 88, Ruskin, Neb., departed this life on Monday (3/2/09) at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron. She was born November 5, 1920 at rural Kiowa, Neb., the daughter of George and Louise (Hespen) Loontjer. Anna was baptized November 28, 1920 by Rev. John Meyer and confirmed June 2, 1935 by Rev. O. E. Reimnitz. Anna married George John Kniep on August 15, 1943 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kiowa, Neb., officiant Rev. Royden Frese. This union was blessed with the birth of two sons and two daughters. George and Anna made farming their life work. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Ruskin, NE, she enjoyed quilting, embroidery work, visiting friends for pie and coffee, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Anna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George. Anna is survived by her sons, George Jr. and wife, Kathy, Ruskin, Neb.; James and wife, Frances, Lincoln; daughters, Janet Kniep, Lincoln; Joyce and husband, Richard Baines, Ruskin, Neb.; grandchildren: Tracy Stauss and husband, Mark, Grand Island; Tammy Fritz and husband, Michael, Staplehurst, Neb.; Troy Kniep, Ruskin, Neb.; Terry Riley and fiance, Kent Morgan, Concordia, Kan.; Jodi and husband, Anthony Zmiewski, Lincoln; Crystal Couch, Orange, Calif.; Julie Simon and husband, Brian, Garden Grove, Calif.; Sarah Kniep, Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren: Jared, Jamie, Joanna Stauss; Autumn Sicard; Kaitlen Riley; Zachary Zmiewski; Matthew and Jeremy Simon; one sister, Lenora Holtzen and husband, Harold, Deshler; sisters-in-law, Esther Loontjer; Mary Loontjer; and Louise Loontjer, all of Deshler.
Funeral services 10:30 a.m. Friday (3/6/09) at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Ruskin, Neb. Rev. James Moll and Vicar Joel Pike will be officiating. Visitation 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday (3/5/09) at Deshler Memorial Funeral Home, Deshler. Burial: Spring Creek Cemetery, Ruskin, Neb. Memorials in care of the family. Deshler Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
