I got to know Betty when I was a student at the Lutheran Center in 2020. We chatted on the phone weekly about God, politics, teaching, and family while the world was shut down. She even made me a quilt! Once I started student teaching and eventually got my job as an English teacher, we were visiting with each other every few months. She was a great supporter as I worked at Carol Joy Holling, as well. I tried to call today and saw that her number was disconnected. She will be greatly missed.

Betty was a long time friend of my mom's and played bridge together for decades. When I was young she tutored me in the summer in math and reading. We shared a birthday together and she sent me a birthday card almost my whole life no matter where I lived. i will always think of her on my birthday! My condolences, and wish I would have seen this in time to attend the service.

Betty and I both taught in Lincoln Public Schools and I enjoyed working with her on committees. My youngest son was assigned to her 4th grade class. Betty made his year a very successful and challenging. This was before the time of gifted math and reading groups, but Betty developed activities that challenged him and expanded his horizons for the entire year. Mrs. Dasenbrock was one of his favorite teachers! Betty has always held a special place in my heart for her efforts.

Mrs. Dasenbrock was my 5th grade teacher at Calvert Elementary. She is one of the reasons I chose to become a teacher myself. She was kind, compassionate and good at her job. My thoughts and prayers with your family at this time. She made a difference.
