Beverly Ann (Hammel) Scheerger

Beverly Ann (Hammel) Scheerger, 92, passed away on March 3, 2026, in Lincoln, NE. She was born on November 11, 1933, to William and Lois (Strange) Hammel in Lincoln, NE.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. She met her husband, Don, while singing in the choir at Redeemer Lutheran Church. They were married June 15th, 1956. Together, they had three beautiful daughters: Shari Pratt, Susan Bredthauer, and Sandra Galois. Her girls were her pride and joy and the source of her and her husband's greatest happiness. Her early married life was devoted to raising her girls. She was involved in church and PTA activities, and a life member of the PTA. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for 85 years. She was a member of the Women of Redeemer and Chancel Guild. She served many years on the Lancaster County Election Board. She loved bridge and played in several groups over the years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, daughters, and their families.

Beverly is survived by her husband, Don; daughters, Shari Pratt (Mike) and their daughter, Amanda Pratt (Elias), Susan Bredthauer (Jeff) and their daughter, Jessica Bredthauer, Sandra Galois and her children, Aubrey Canarsky (Paul), Devin Galois (Cara), and Faith Galois; great-grandchildren, Josiah, Lorelei, Eloise, and Adelaide Pratt, Jameson, Owen, Nora, and Leighton Canarsky, and Asher Galois; brother, Dick Hammel; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents William and Lois Hammel.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Roper and Sons South Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Dr., Lincoln, NE 68516.
