Bonita Price Obituary

Bonita (Bonnie) Bernice Price

April 1, 1942 - October 9, 2024

KANSAS CIY, MO - Bonita (Bonnie) Bernice Price passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 82. Bonnie was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on April 1, 1942, and was the daughter of Lorenz and Palma Greenwald. She had two brothers, Larry and David Greenwald, and two sisters, Jeanene Gubser and Nancy Challed. Bonnie played with the Columbus High School Band (Columbus, Nebraska) in the 1958 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California and was the first female Class President at Columbus High School. After graduating from high school in 1960, Bonnie remained in Columbus and eventually married her high school sweetheart Bill Price on August 8th, 1963. They moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where they had two children and lived happily married for 57 years. Bonnie was preceded in death by Bill on December 21, 2020. Stephanie, her daughter, lives in Kansas City with her fiancé Chris Barr and two daughters, Kennedy and Madison. Trevor, her son, lives in Omaha with his girlfriend Renee; and has two sons, Jackson and Dylan, and one daughter Riley.

Bonnie worked the majority of her career as a bookkeeper for VanDervoort & VanDervoort, Inc., a local interior design studio. Bonnie and Bill later started a specialty commercial and residential furniture business, Techline Studio, with close friends. Bonnie did book work for Techline, and later for a local radiology group. She and a friend also maintained a small cleaning business. She was very devoted to her church, where she was a part of numerous women's circles and other volunteer tasks. Bonnie loved being with family and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved gardening, cooking and watching the birds on their feeders.

A celebration of her life will be held sometime in the coming spring or early summer.

Memorials can be given to Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri (https://kchospice.org/donate/) or a memorial of your choice.

I´m so sorry to hear of Bonnie´s passing. I worked with her at VanDervoorts for 4 years while I was in college and I remember her fondly. We worked in Nancy´s barn that was converted to the design offices, and we´d have lunch in Nancy´s house everyday and watch As the World Turns! Bonnie was sweet, smart, and funny. I loved working with her and remember her fondly! I send my prayers during this difficult time.

Stephanie and Trevor, Saw this Sunday and was hit by a wave of sadness. Your mom was one of a kind. Such a wonderful person. She and your dad were so fun to be around. I go back to LaSalle Street and remember the great parties and of course the "LaSalle Open" golf tournament. I hope Bonnie is at peace now and reunited with Bill.
Greg and I send our deepest sympathy to you both and your families.

Stephanie and Trevor, not sure if you'll see this, but my mom (Jan Anderson) sent me this and I just wanted to let you know how awesome Bonnie was. I have very fond memories of our folks hanging out on LaSalle Street back in the day. We had a fun neighborhood, and Bonnie was a special part of it! My mom had kept me updated on Bonnie's situation and I can't imagine how tough it was on everyone, so while it seems trivial to say, she's at peace now so I hope you are hanging in there, and know that your mom will always have a special place in my heart. Take care, you guys.
