It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Daren Hansen, 53 years old, on Friday, July 18, 2025, in Lincoln. Daren was born on September 10, 1971. He was the youngest of three sons born to Jim and Carol Hansen. Daren attended Lincoln East High School and continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney where he studied business management and played football for the Kearney Lopers.
After college, Daren worked in the family business managing Grocery stores. He started in Wymore, Neb., and moved on to managing the Store in Geneva, Neb., for almost 30 years.
Daren was preceded in death by his father, Jim Hansen; his mother, Carol Hansen; and his brother, Kevin Hansen.
Daren is survived by his brother, Scott Hansen; and so many great cousins; nieces; and nephews. He will be missed by his many good friends and business associates that he made through the years.
Viewing 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street, Lincoln. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, at Christ UMC, 4530 A Street, Lincoln. Interment in Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials to Meadowlane Pool. Condolences: www.bmlfh.com.
