Douglas Kyle Nielsen
March 29, 1966-January 20, 2024
Douglas Kyle Nielsen, age 57 of Louisville, NE, a dedicated and sincere family man, peacefully passed away on January 20, 2024, surrounded by the comforts of his home. Born on March 29, 1966, in Omaha, NE and raised by loving parents, Richard Lund and Melva Gene (Mussman) Nielsen.
Doug grew up in Weeping Water, Nebraska and graduated from Weeping Water High School in 1984. He attended Southeast Community College where he obtained an Associate's Degree. Doug married the love of his life, Christy Elizabeth Cantonwine, on March 9, 2009, in a ceremony held in Wilbur, NE. Together, they built a life centered around family, farming, and the simple joys of rural living. A self-employed farmer and truck driver, Doug found fulfillment in his work and took pride in maintaining his tractors and trucks. His commitment to the land and his passion for agriculture defined his professional life.
Doug was a man of faith, an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. His love for time spent with friends and family, football, NASCAR, and a genuine appreciation for rural living defined Doug's character. To his family and friends, he was often referred to as "The Mayor", as he would never turn down a conversation with anyone, and seemed to always have a group gathered around him. He enjoyed working on the farm, tending to his tractors, and embarking on adventures to Key West. Above all, he treasured moments with his grandson, creating lasting memories.
Doug is survived by his wife Christy Nielsen of Louisville, NE, children Dustin Nielsen of Bellevue, NE, Anna Doeschot of Lincoln, NE, Lee Cimfel of Lincoln, NE, and grandchildren, Kolson Nielsen (Dustin), Alexis and Laney Anson of Comfort, TX, by his siblings Wayne (Shelly) Nielsen of Tecumseh, NE, Sandra Nielsen of Syracuse, NE, and Scott (Brandi) Nielsen of Ankeny, IA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Having at one time being neighbors, we always knew when he got home from being in the semi as there would be fireworks. Because of this we always called him firecracker.
Firecracker loved life and was always ready for a good time.
Now I pretty sure he is lighting fireworks in heaven for all up there to enjoy!
