Emily Esther (Jones) Scheller was called to her heavenly home on October 19, 2021. She resided in Lincoln for over 58 years. Born August 1, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri, she was the only child of Jonathan Franklin Jones and Ethelyn Mae (Crist) Jones. Emily grew up in Unionville, Missouri and graduated Valedictorian from Unionville High School in 1947. She studied at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. There she met and married William (Bill) Alfred Scheller on September 10, 1951. Emily and Bill were blessed with two children: William (W.L.) Louis Scheller II in 1958 and Katherine (Kit) Elizabeth Scheller in 1963. They moved to Lincoln in 1963, when Bill joined the Chemical Engineering faculty at UNL.

Emily earned a Master's Degree in Educational Psychology from UNL. In 1977 she joined Precision Machine as Office Manager. She continued with the company for 10 years. She left to travel with Bill to Europe, Brazil, and China. Following Bill's death in 1996, Emily continued to live in Lincoln. With declining health during 2021, she moved to Grand Blanc, Michigan to be closer to family. Emily was a member of Christ Lincoln, Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Emily is survived by her son Dr. W.L. Scheller II (wife: Kathy), Grand Blanc, Michigan; daughter, Kit Price (husband: Stewart), Waunakee, Wisconsin. Six grandchildren: William R. Scheller (wife: Ashley), Ankeny, Iowa; Elizabeth J. McCasland, Houston, Texas; Deborah E. Scheller, Grand Blanc, Michigan; Gwendolyn C. Price, Tempe, Arizona; Weston S. Price and Josette G. Emily's funeral will be Thursday November 4th at 10:00 am (Central Time) at Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The funeral will be streamed and available for later viewing on YouTube. Burial will be at Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, Missouri. My prayers are with the entire Scheller family. W.L. and Elizabeth, please know that I am thinking of you both personally and sending a big virtual hug your way. Two major losses in your family in such a short time is a lot to endure. May the sweet, sweet memories of Mrs. Emily and Benjamin be treasured in your hearts forever. God bless you all. My sincerest condolences.

My condolences to the family on your loss. I worked with Emily for many years and always enjoyed our Earl Tea breaks and listen to her stories about her travels. Years later when I started my "world travels" first traveling to China, I first visited Emily to learn about her experiences there. She and Bill led a full life.
