Ernest Prosser Obituary

Ernest J. Prosser, 83, Falls City, passed away Friday (4/27/07) at Falls City. Born June 5, 1923, in Falls City, to the late Elmer I. and Rose Ann (Brundick) Prosser. He was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School. He entered the U.S. Army after graduation. After being discharged from service he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and graduated in 1949. After graduation he lived in Hiawatha, Kan., for a short time, moving back to Falls City in 1955 and established his private CPA practice. He joined Mr. E.H. Towle and his enterprises where he was employed until 2001. Mr. Prosser was one of three purchasers of the First National Bank and Trust Co. in 1973 and has been a director and owner since.

He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, BPO Elks Lodge 963, the Lions Club, American Legion Post 103, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1765, all of Falls City; the American Institute of CPAs and the Nebraska Society of CPAs.

He is survived by: his wife, Ethel; sons, daughter-in-law, Michael J. Prosser, Falls City, Jeffrey J. and Dawn Prosser, Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands; daughter, Laura Prosser, Falls City; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Falls City, with Father Robert A. Roh, the presiding priest. Interment in the Falls City Catholic Cemetery, with military graveside services by the Falls City Ceremonial Honor Guard. A parish rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dorr and Clark Funeral Home, Falls City.
