Fern (Bartsch) Ewert
February 2, 1931 - January 28, 2021
Fern (Bartsch) Ewert passed away January 28 at The Monarch Hospice House. Fern was born in Delft, Minnesota on February 2, 1931. She graduated from Grace Bible Institute and then received an RN from Immanuel Hospital in Omaha. In 1957 she married Ralph Ewert, then completing his MD, and they went to Congo as missionaries.
After their service they returned to Lincoln where Fern was very active in their church and her hobbies included gardening and sewing. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling and have visited all the States except Hawaii. Her greatest joys were her family, working with youth, and in her last years the Bible Studies she led in her retirement home.
She is survived by her husband Ralph, and daughters Susan, Miriam, Jeanne, and Rachel, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Lyle and her sister-in-law, Marilyn, and her brother Gene and his wife Phyllis.
A memorial service will be livestreamed at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Middle Cross Church, 2600 North 70th Street, Lincoln, NE. Memorials directed to the Gideons, the Mennonite Central Committee, or to Middle Cross Church. A livestream link will be available 10 minutes prior to the service at www.roperandsons.com.

Sorry to hear of your mother's death. My memory is getting bad but no doubt Ralph and she were working at the hospital at IME, Kimpese, in Congo, when Walter and I were there. Thanks for letting me know.

So sorry about the loss of your wife, firm. In recent years I´ve seen you at David´s 50th and at cousin Ernie´s funeral.
Cousin Edith who was also at Ernie´s funeral just lost her husband December 23 very suddenly.
