He just did it without telling others of his deeds. Fred was very honored when he became a Master Mason in the Scottish Rite. He was a dedicated and faithful member throughout his life.

My Boyfriend Richard and I would go out to Greenwood Cemetery to visit Richard's family interned there and Fred and Peggy, Kent and Jody would go with us. Then we would go to Baker's Candy store and get some chocolates. Pioneer park and Lee's for dinner. Being in Lincoln,Nebraska with these lovely people going out to visit friend's on Richard's and Kent's friend's farm was a big highlight of my life. Also meeting Fred and Peggy's two sons. Fred and Peggy could not have been nicer to me a stranger from California. Go BIG RED!!!! Love you CORNHUSKERS!!! Until we all meet again in heaven. God Bless, Liz Laroff/Newport Beach,CA

I met Fred and Peggy by my boyfriend Richard. Richard and I went to Nebraska 3 times and really enjoyed visiting with Fred and Peggy. Down to earth lovely people. I remember I walked around instead of walking on his grass one time at his beautiful home in Nebraska. He was happy and surprised about that. I remember watching the Cornhuskers play football in their living room with their beautiful dog. I remember the room was full of love and history. I miss you Fred, Peggy, and Richard. I have known Bud since 1969 when he hired me as an appraiser at the Department of Roads. And it was my pleasure to work with him for many subsequent years at NDOR and the City of Lincoln. What began as a business relationship soon became a friendship lasting over 50 years. My best wishes and condolences to all of his family.
