Gail F. Oneby

Gail F. (Wittenberg) Oneby of Lincoln, NE/Chicago, IL died November 27, 2022. She was born May 24, 1937 in Chicago and married James E. Oneby, Jr. on May 10, 1958. She left her secretarial career to raise four children. Later, she volunteered at Elmhurst Hospital near their suburban Chicago home. In 2017, Gail and Jim retired to Lincoln.
She is remembered by her husband Jim; children Debi (Thomas) Jaster, Michael (Jennifer) Oneby, SheriLynne (Mark) Hansen, and Misha (Stephani Booker) Oneby; grandchildren Marc, Mariya and Matthew Jaster and Charlie, Elisabeth and Laurel Hansen; in-laws Ellen Kruse and Lee (Pam) Oneby; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street. Visitation 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, December 9 at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Habitat for Humanity or Doctors Without Borders.
