LINCOLN - Herman Frederick "Fred" Monnich, Jr., 78, passed away January 13, 2024, in Lincoln. Fred was born on September 27, 1945, in Shreveport, LA to Herman Frederick, Sr. and Frances Seeger.
Fred served in the U.S. Air Force and worked more than 40 years at KLIN radio and also at People's City Mission. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Fred is survived by his wife, Jane Monnich; his children: Andy (Melissa) Monnich, Heidi Botkin, and daughter-in-law, Megan Monnich; as well as his grandchildren: Samantha (Austin) Sprong, Alex and Joshua Botkin, Michael and Mathew Monnich, Elijah and James Monnich, and Aaron Pedigo. He is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Monnich, grandson, Isaac Monnich and former son-in-law, Bradley Botkin.
Fred gave thanks in every moment, never complained, and always appreciated and faithfully loved his family. He put his trust in Jesus until his death.
The funeral service will be at First Lutheran Church, 1551 S. 70th Street, Lincoln, NE 68506 at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Private family burial.

Fred was a fun, out going guy. He knew everyone and if he didn't he soon got to know you.
