Jack Hillegass Obituary

Jack Hillegass

May 23-1952 – May 9, 2024

Jack Hillegass is survived by the devoted love of his life, wife, Cindy, along with daughter, Jennifer (Ryan) Bonser, and granddaughter, Leiyah Joy Bonser. Siblings: older sister, Nancy (Don) Matson, younger sister, Jan (Andy) Hall. Loving nieces & nephew: Beth (John) Forster, Rob Kreycik, Carrie (Trevor) Taylor. Supportive cousins: Jim Hillegass, Linda (Jim) McKee, Diane (Michael) Nolan. Previous wife, Martha Vennes. Preceded in death by loving parents, George and Thelma Hillegass.

During Jack's 71 years he personified integrity, humility, and kindness, living out these virtues through his actions. He was a passionate devoted husband, a loving father, a nurturing grandfather, a caring brother, supportive uncle and a fun-loving cousin. Jack owned Cities Communications specializing in the installation of telephone and data communications. Together with Cindy, he served as a newspaper carrier for the Minneapolis Star & Tribune from 1989 until 2023. Jack's unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction earned him the prestigious title of "Premier Carrier of the Quarter" from the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Following a long struggle with head and neck cancer, Jack left this world to be with God and to wait for his forever soul mate Cindy.

Plans are being made for a "celebration of life" at a future date to be announced. His remains underwent water cremation.
