James Yost Obituary
July 26, 1948 - March 23, 2025
Our Beloved Jim's light dimmed on March 23, 2025. Raised in Lincoln NE, graduated Lincoln South East and attended Hiram Scott College. Jim participated in operettas. He developed an adventurous heart for the outdoors while fishing, hunting, jeeping, and skiing, providing an appreciation for a balance of life and nature. He moved to Telluride in the 70's, where he joined other Linconites laying the blueprint for its present day Ski Resort-Film and Festival destination. Jim was a volunteer Fire Fighter, a Plumber and worked Construction. The outdoors life fed his spirit and soul. He lived many years in San Diego as owner-operator in window coverings and Popcorn company and retired as an IT Tech at Qualcom.
He continued to enjoy life outdoors with sailing, hikes, cycling, and a student as an avid reader.
Jim had a wicked sense of humor, common sense, a card player, and a good cook.
He was a quiet role model for many with 40 years of sobriety. Having numerous friends, he left them kindness.
His legacy includes Daughter Ann Rail, Grandsons; Burkett Johanns, George McCune, Jonah Rail, Finley Rail and Great Grandchild Eleanor, all of Lincoln. Sisters Ann Yost-Tucson, Linda Yost, Colorado Springs, Nieces, Nephews and endearing friends.
Jim is preceded in transition by his Mother Eleanor, Father Arthur and John his brother.
No formal Memorial is planned at this time. At Jim's request, he will be scattered on two Colorado mountain trails he loved.
Feel free to donate to your local animal shelter or rescue.
Just beyond right or wrong, there is a meadow, meet him there.
