JoAnne Shaw
January 11, 1941 - May 30, 2024
JoAnne Shaw was born January 11, 1941, in Fremont, NE and passed peacefully at the age of 83, on May 30, 2024, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard, and Marguerite Morehouse; and her brother, John (Jamie) Morehouse.
JoAnne is survived by her husband, David; their three sons: Steve (Wendy), Rick (Jenny), and Matt (Jackie); 11 grandchildren (Emily, Laura, Ben, Hannah, Jordan, Luke, Joanna, Kaci, Lillie, Dj and Samantha); and two great-grandsons (Julian and Simon).
She met the love of her life, David, in junior high and the two began dating during their sophomore year at Fremont High School culminating a 60 plus year marriage. JoAnne served as a Registered Nurse for 35 years, graduating from the Clarkson College of Nursing in 1963. She worked at Lincoln General Hospital until she chose to take on her most important calling, raising her three boys. During these years she provided part-time nursing care at Allergy and Immunology P.C in Lincoln. Later, she worked as a nurse at Gateway Manor and provided in home private duty nursing care. JoAnne was an active member of Second Baptist Church for 55 years and enjoyed participating in the Chancel and Bell choirs. She was also an active member in PEO. She was proud of her family and loved supporting her sons and grandchildren's many sporting and school activities, and cherished being a wife, mother, and grandma.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 525 N 58 St, Lincoln. Luncheon to follow.
Visitation with family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Butherus, Maser, & Love Funeral Home.
Memorials suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, University of Nebraska Foundation (David and JoAnne COD Scholarship #01157730), or Second Baptist Church."

I met JoAnne at Second Baptist women's group and enjoyed her so much. We were both RN's and she had 3 sons and we had 4. My Sympathy to Dave and family. Carol Biggs
