My deepest condolences to the family. Joe and I are direct descendants of the same Vosoba who is buried in the Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction, Jones County, IA. Unfortunately for me when he visited Oxford Junction in the 70´s I was not at home. But I later met him in Pisek while I was traveling in the Czech Republic. We shared much family history. While I was in CR I spent several days in the area of Brezi where the Vosoba´s originated. I felt a definite connection to the people there. Joe did so many wonderful things for the people of the CR and also for the people of Nebraska. He has left a powerful legacy and will be sorely missed by many. MaryJean.
My paternal grandmother was a Vosoba, who married a Pashek.

During the year I spent as a Czech student in Nebraska, I had the privilege of knowing Joe as a man whose kindness, generosity, and wisdom left a lasting impression on me. Even in his later years, his sharp intellect and quick wit never faded, making every conversation with him both inspiring and enriching. I will always remember him with deep respect and gratitude. His spirit will live on in the many hearts he touched, including mine. My sincere condolences to his family-may you find comfort in the beautiful legacy he leaves behind.

Joe Vosoba was an amazing man & a giant in supporting the Czech culture in Nebraska. I am so glad to have had a chance to work with him on the University of Nebraska Foundation's Czech Advisory Committee. It was also my honor and privilege to become his friend, along with his wife Kathy.
His passing is moment to reflect on an era of jubilant celebration of our Czech heritage in Nebraska which Joe Vosoba helped to lead. We will miss Joe terribly but we must continue to celebrate and promote our Czech heritage. Joe Vosoba will be missed and he will be remembered.

Joe was a great man who did many good things. He provided service and input to a number of ideas and causes. As President of the Czech Language Foundation I want to salute him for his support for Nebraska Czech causes, being one of the original founders of Nebraska Czechs, and his organization along with the CLF worked to promote and preserve the Czech language classes at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He lived a long life, a good and honorable life and provided leadership and service to many causes. He will be remembered and his life provides a model for all to follow.

Having known Joe my entire life, I am still impressed that, having the ability to do anything, he chose to do good in every aspect. The world has lost someone who was on the right side of history. Vaya con dios, Joe
