LaVern Zart Obituary
LaVern Zart, age 87, of Lincoln, died October 28, 2025.
Born in Avoca, NE to Lucile (Jackson) and Leonard Klimm, she was a longtime Lincoln resident having worked many years at Sartor Hamann jewelers. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, making jewelry, and projects where she could apply her artistic flair. In her younger years she enjoyed teaching painting classes and making wedding cakes.
LaVern married Wesley Zart on Aprill 12, 1958, and they raised three sons, Tim, Todd, and Troy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wes, to whom she was married for 57 years, her beloved son, Troy, her parents, and her sister, Lila Wiebelhaus.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Tim and Nancee Zart of Bella Vista, AR, Todd and Shelley Zart of Lincoln, grandsons Aaron Zart (Jacqueline Goering) of Florissant, MO and Kyle Zart (Maren Schuttler) of Lincoln, step-granddaughter Aimee McGoveran of Columbia, MO, brother Randy Klimm of Lincoln, and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St, Lincoln, NE.
The family requests no flowers. Those wishing to make a memorial gift are encouraged to direct memorials to St. Mark's United Methodist Church of Lincoln. In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family encourages the performance of random acts of kindness in LaVern's memory.

My heart goes out to my cousins Tim and Todd along with their families with the passing of Aunt LaVern. She was always so beautiful in my eyes, very talented & creative, and a gracious hostess. I pray you will sense God's comforting Spirit in your lives & will hold close those precious memories of your mom & grandmother. I will let my sisters & brother know of our Aunt LaVern's passing.

Rest in Peace Dear Lady. I will miss all the good times we had when we were a bit younger and the long visits too. Always loved coming to Lincoln to spend time with you and your family. Know you will be missed by many. Have thought of you often but didn't know where you were living after you moved from 79th Street. Again RIP....

I remember the days on the farm when our Lincoln family would come down and work up the garden harvests. As were the days when us farm kids would come to Lincoln to see the family too. Many memories were made and shared over the years. RIP LaVern

So sorry for your loss. My father Del McCown and your father worked together at NC plus. LaVern use to come to NOASM where I worked. Always enjoyed our talks. May she rest in peace.
