He married his loving wife Florence Terryberry in 1955 and together they raised five children. He proudly served his country during the Korean War.

Preceded in death by his wife, Florence, son, Mike, parents, and sister Shirley, Dobbs. Lawrence is survived by daughter, Angela (Dave) Friesell, Murdock, NE son, Mark (Cheryl) Smith, Beatrice, NE son, Matt Smith and daughter Laurie (Bill) Klosterboer, both of Lincoln, NE, brother, Charles Smith, Chandler, AZ, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, niece, and nephews.

We are comforted knowing the celebration happening in heaven as Dad and Mom reconnect and are dancing together once again. Thank you, Lord, for giving us the best parents and grandparents that children and grandchildren could ask for. We felt your love and strength and guidance through them.

Dad requested a simple graveside service for family only. He asked for memorials to go to the Murdock Volunteer Fire Department or Murdock United Methodist Church. Fusselman-Allen-Harvey Funeral Home, Louisville, NE 402-234-3985

Lawrence and Florence were good people filled with love and caring for all. I recall their weekly visits to the Louisville Care Center where Florence with her beautiful voice would lead the sing-a-longs while Lawrence would visit with the men. Lawrence was our son Steve's first baseball coach and he taught many lessons in addition to the rules of the game. May his soul rest in peace.
