Loren Edwards Schmidt, age 83, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Loren was born on July 19, 1941, in Lincoln to Smitty and Thelma Schmidt.
Loren was the longtime owner of A-1 Refrigeration.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; brother, Alan (Pauline); sister, Alisanne (Mark) Ells; brother-in-law, Dick (Vicki) Stephenson; along with many nieces and nephews; honorary son, Rich (Ileana) Farley; honorary granddaughters: Janessa and Laci Farley. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rachel; and grandson, Tanner.
Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home.
Memorials to The Nebraska Corvette Association 7221 S. 96th Court, or donor's choice.

I am saddened to hear Loren passed away. He hired me as a high school student, and helped train me in a career I did not know how long it would last. He and his family were very honest and generous people. I will cherish their friendship forever. My condolences to you all.

My Life long friend going back to grade school. We had a life long friendship that I will greatly miss. Worked for his father at A-1 Refrigeration as one of my first jobs in life. My prayers and wishes go out to the family.
