Maria E. Nelson-Higgins, of Lincoln, Neb., was born July 10, 1943, entered eternal rest on September 24, 2025. Raised in O'Neill, Neb., educated by O'Neill St. Mary's Academy from age five through grade 12, worked in Saratoga, Wyo., as a State Farm Staff Agent for many years, then in Las Vegas for a few years. She married her high school sweetheart Steve Higgins, 29 years later, being happily married for 34 good years.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2025, St. Peter Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Drive. Interment will be in the Omaha National Cemetery by her husband's future grave at a later date.
Viewing one hour prior to service.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to St. Patrick's/St Vincent DePaul Society.
