Marlene L. Stelling

Marlene L. Stelling was born December 3, 1933, in Lincoln, NE, the daughter of Ivan and Minnie (Stohlmann) Althouse. She graduated from Waverly High School and in 1954 received her RN from Lincoln General School of Nursing. Marlene raised her family living all over the world. She retired from the Nebraska State Penitentiary after working there 20 years as a nurse. Marlene was a member of First Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
Marlene is survived by her children, Paul Stelling of Huntington Beach, CA, Sara (Robert) Maliva of Ft. Myers, FL, David Stelling of Pensacola, FL, Suzanne (Bill Gould) Chochrek of Edina, MN, Karen Stelling, and Margriet Stelling both of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren; brother, Darren (Sueann) Althouse of Harwood, MD, and sister-in-law, Kathleen (Vic) Aufdemberge of Grand Island, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Ivan Althouse Jr.
Celebration of life will be 2 pm, Saturday, November 6, at First Lutheran Church, 1551 S 70th St, with Pastor Erin Heidelberger officiating. Private family burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Louisville. Memorials to First Lutheran Church. Condolences to www.lincolnffc.com.
