Mary "Susie" Susann (Heilman) Donaldson
April 17, 1943 - April 26, 2021
Sue Donaldson passed away on Monday April 26, 2021 at her daughters home in San Diego CA surrounded by her family and loved ones. Susie was born on the 17th of April, 1943 in Muskogee OK, to parents Robert "Jack" and LaVetta Heilman of Lincoln. Susie graduated from Lincoln Northeast High School and decided to go directly into Cosmetology at The College of Hair design.
After graduating, she began a successful career in the beauty industry, and continued for many years. Eventually Sue decided to take a position with the Dialysis Center of Lincoln; she wore many hats over the years but retired as the Travel Coordinator after an amazing 32 years of loyal and dedicated service.
Sue herself received a Kidney transplant 28 years ago in 1992, she loved her kidney and treated it like one of her own children until the very end; her kidney returned the favor and gave us all those additional years we likely would not have had!
The greatest moments in our mom's life are the day she gave her life to Christ; mom served our Lord faithfully without doubt or uncertainty all the days of her life and being a grandma was certainly her greatest joy! Sue loved her family unconditionally and always put their needs first.
Sue is survived by her son Jay Donaldson, daughters Lori Donaldson and Ana Vaughn; grandchildren Jaesa (Raymond Maestas) Vaughn, Maycie, Treyton, Rachael and Reyhanna; great-grandchildren Noah and Mia. Sister Joyce (Robert) Gerken. Preceded in death by sister Becki Griffeth and her parents.
Celebration of life service: 11 a.m. Monday, May 10th, at Christ Place Church, 5555 Roose St. (Just North of 56th and VanDorn) Lincoln Ne, 68506. Family and friends are invited to a gathering in Susie's honor at Rumology, 7301 S. 27th, Ste #150, on Monday, May 10th at 3:00 p.m. Dinner will be served. Memorials to Dialysis Center of Lincoln in memory of Sue.

Dearest Lori, Ani, Jay and Joyce... I'm extremely saddened by your precious Momand sister's passing. You'll never know how much it meant to me to be able to chat with her in her last days. Thank you so much for making that happen, Lori! Her cheerful laughter always brought such joy to my heart! Susie and Becki were my neighbors on Huntington St from the time I was 3 until we moved away when I was 12. We always stayed in close contact and our love for each other grew through the years. That Heilman laugh was always such a delight to my soul. I'm so thankful to know that we'll all meet again in Heaven one day and sing praises to our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ throughout eternity. I pray that our Heavenly Father will comfort each of you, as only He can do, with His peace that passes all understanding! We will be at the service and are looking forward to greeting each of you as we honor your Mom's life so selflessly devoted to Christ. I love you!!

We could not have asked for kinder, more considerate and fun neighbor than Sue. She quickly became more than a neighbor and became a good friend. We will miss her smiling face and her infectious laugh.
Certainly Heaven has gained a true angel.
