Michael Joseph Lintel, 68, died, Monday, April 25, 2022, at Tabitha Journey House in Lincoln, Neb. Michael was born November 4, 1953, in Yankton, SD to Ferdinand and Delores Lintel. His early years were in Crofton, Neb. until the family moved to Lincoln in 1956. Michael joined the U.S. Navy in June 1972, served active duty to June 1976, the Naval Reserve to October 1980, and returned to active duty retiring May 1992 at the rank of Petty Officer First Class. He then worked for the Immigration & Naturalization Service until 2008.

Michael married Theresa Randall on April 7, 1973. They had a son Brian and divorced in June 1976. Michael was an avid reader and enjoyed U.S. History with particular interest in Abraham Lincoln. Other hobbies included true crime research, classic cars especially his '67 Camaro SS, and telling of his naval adventures at seaports around the world.

Michael is survived by his son Brian J. Behrens of Overland Park, Kan. His siblings Tom, Jim, and Theresa (Lintel) Barry all of Lincoln. Eight nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and friends across the globe.

Graveside burial service only on Friday, May 6, 2022, 11AM at Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln. Memorials to family for later designation or to the Martha Foecke Scholarship at Mount Marty University in Yankton, SD.
