Richard R. Turner, 70, of Lincoln, died on January 23, 2023. Richard was born on December 1, 1952, to Bob and Margie (Teaquist) Turner in Hampton, Iowa. Richard graduated from Lincoln Southeast High School and attended Southeast Community College.
He married Deanna Matthies in 1993, and they welcomed Leslie into their family in 2001. He worked for many years at Electric Supply Company in Lincoln and was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Richard was a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him. He gave much of himself to others throughout his life, and in death he donated his organs and tissue to LIVEON Nebraska to continue helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Deanna. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie; brothers David (Denise) and Charles (Cathy) Turner; nieces and nephews; and many close friends.
An avid football fan, Richard loved the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Kansas City Chiefs, and his family has asked that persons wear their favorite Husker or Chiefs attire to his memorial service on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 7130 Kentwell Lane, Lincoln, NE. 68516. Inurnment will be with his wife, Deanna, in the Ohiowa Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to "Friends of Trinity" for a special memorial garden and outdoor classroom to be built at the 16th & A site in honor of Richard and Deanna Turner, or to the Trinity Village Gardens Hospitality Committee, or consider a plant for Leslie in lieu of flowers.
