Roger Duane Meyer, 69, born March 9, 1955, entered into rest March 18, 2024.
Roger was born in Lincoln to Edward and Merna Meyer and was raised in Panama, NE. Growing up he had five sisters Sandy, Karen, Bobbi, Angie and Sherry. Roger graduated from Norris High School in 1973, this is where he met his high school sweetheart Connie, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past July. Roger was a family oriented and kindhearted father to his two children Jennifer and Kyle. He was also a hands on and wonderful grandfather to his three grandchildren, Nick, Alec and Emma. Roger also had many extended family members who he enjoyed spending time with.
Roger worked for Ace Hardware and the United States Post Office where he retired in 2017. He had many hobbies which included being an avid golfer and bike rider, you could usually find him outside. Roger and Connie loved to travel to national parks and explore all what Nebraska has to offer. He loved to attend local sporting and musical events. Roger attended Southern Heights Presbyterian Church where he was an active member and was loved by his church community. Roger had many friends; he was an all-around kind soul, and he will be missed by many.
A funeral service is planned to be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., and a luncheon following. The service will be at Southern Heights Presbyterian Church, located at 5750 S. 40th St. Lincoln, NE, 68516.

I worked at the Post Office for maybe 6 months about 10 years ago. Even though I only worked there for a short time, Roger left an impression. He was a great guy and I´m sure will be missed by many. I was saddened to see he passed . My thoughts and prayers go out to Roger´s family.

Connie and family, It was a tremendous shock to hear of Roger's passing. With my rehab still in process I will be unable to attend the services but my thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
