Roger Kent Oppliger
February 26, 1951 - February 12, 2025
Roger Kent Oppliger, age 73 of Blair, passed away February 12, 2025 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Saturday February 15 from 1:00PM to 3:00 PM at Campbell Aman Funeral Home in Blair. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 1-5 PM at The Eagle's Club in Columbus, Nebraska.
Roger was born February 26, 1951 in Columbus, Nebraska the son of Harry Ernst and Ellen Ruby (Coffin) Oppliger. He attended country school, and then attended and graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. In January of 1970 he joined the National Guard and honorably served until June of 1976. On July 1, 1972 he was united in marriage to Becky Tworek in Columbus. To this union 3 children were born, Chad, Dustin and Erica. He was raised in Polk County where he farmed with his father raising cattle, and continued to farm until 1993. Roger then worked in the trucking industry, including Sliva Transportation and Wendt Farms. After his retirement he began working for Woodhouse. He was employed with the company for the last 8 years and enjoyed his time delivering vehicles across the United States. Over the years he enjoyed a few cold beers, fishing, NASCAR, sky diving, water skiing, dirt track racing, camping and the road to Sturgis.
Roger is survived by his wife Becky, children; Chad Oppliger of Columbus, Dustin (Tonya) Oppliger of Blair and their children Kaitlyn (Austin Pruss) Oppliger, Lindsay (Nick) Borgman and Landen Oppliger, Erica (Jeff) Young of Albion and their children, Brittany (Matthew) Childress, Blaine Young, Dylan (Kerrigan Myers) Young, Dalton (Caydence Guthard) Young and Braylee Young, great grandchildren; Myles and Madden Childress, sisters; Gloria Neujahr of Gresham, Nebraska and Joyce (Vernon) Kuhnel of Osceola, in-laws; Myron Hobza, Katie Tworek, Bill (Diane) Tworek, Tom (Marilyn) Tworek, Janie (Brad) Whitefoot, Joanie Zoucha, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in law Joe and Esther Tworek, brothers in law Kenny Zoucha, Paul Tworek and Gary Neujahr, nephew Andre Tworek and sister in law Carol Hobza.
