I knew Rose Marie as a good friend and neighbor. She took me to the Nebraska Czechs of Lincoln meetings. I was so saddened to hear of her death. She was such a kind person. I now reside the Syracuse Good Samaritan nursing home so I was unable to attend the services but will appreciate her memory always. Mary Hessler

I had the privilege of knowing Rose Marie for a shorter time than most but feel blessed to have known her as long as I did. She was an inspiration to me for life long learning including personal geneology and a desire for international traveling. She was such a kind heart and a deeply good person that everyone who knew her was better off in life for any experience with her. She was a client and friend of mine that I will truly miss.

To the family of Rose Marie Tondl,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of Rose Marie. She was an inspiration to many in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension and the Nebraska Cooperative Extension Association. I met her 20 years ago at an NCEA meeting and we served on committees together. The example that she set with her professionalism helped guide me in my early years as an Extension Specialist, even though our worlds were far apart (home economics and wildife ecology). She will be missed by all who knew her.

To the family of Rose Marie
As a fellow faculty memeber, I will miss Rose Marie and her spirit. A few weeks ago I had a conversation with her about fish soup which was part of a class she was attending. I will miss seeing her at Jazz in June. She was a wonderful person.

To The Family of Dr Tondl: On A Lighter Note.
Miss Tondl was my home ec teacher at Pound Jr High during the mid 60's. She taught me "the proper" way to put butter or mayo on bread, a practice I still do today. Sewing?--let's not go there. As you can see, she left a lasting impression on me, a sign of a good teacher.

To the Family of Rose Marie Tondl,
I am deeply saddened by the news of Rose Marie's passing. I taught with her at East High School before moving to Montana. My husband and I would have lunch with her when we ventured back to Lincoln. We also kept in touch by email and loved to hear news about her family. We were hoping she would visit us in Montana. I always admired her creative talents and sense of adventure. My deepest sympathy and prayers to her family.

I had the opportunity to teach with Rose Marie at East High School for many many years. Under her guidance our department grew in the number of teachers, students, and classes. Her professionalism and belief in always doing what was best for the students was a strong influence on everyone who knew her and continues to guide our philosophy in the FCS department there yet today.
She could laugh at a good joke and show empathy with the student who was frustrated with a sewing project.
I enjoyed working with her and continuing to see her after she left East for the University and even after her retirement there, as she was a strong supporter of her "Home Economics" professional organizations and everything they were involved in.
I will miss seeing her at activities and finding out about her latest projects and family activities.
I am sorry I am unable to attend her service,

I came to know "Aunt Rose" through her niece, my best friend, Tracy McManus. She was always a positive presence in the lives of Tracy and her family. When we saw each other at the Tondl family celebrations and events, Aunt Rose was always ready with a smile and a fun story about some adventure she had just come back from. I know she will be sorely missed, especially by Tracy who had a special bond with her. Our prayers go out to her and to her family. May she rest in peace.

To the family of Dr. Tondl. Many years ago I was doing my student teaching in a Junior High in Southeast Lincoln. She was my supervisor. Her professionalism and love of teaching encouraged me to continue in the teaching profession which I did for many years. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Aunt Rose: I love you! Words can't express our sorrow right now. You never missed our family's holidays, birthdays, graduations, births, baptisms, or parties. We hope you are up there telling one of your numerous adventures/travels, and stories about NU football games, NU volleyball games, baking kolaches, eating crablegs/lobster on Christmas Eve, how your brothers teased you and your cat, or just telling stories of how many friends/family loved you so very much! God Bless you Aunt Rose!

To the family of Dr. Rose Marie Tondl,
I am so sorry to hear about Rose Marie's death. Rose was in my grade at Schuyler High School, class of 1955.
It is so sad to lose a sister. I lost my sister, Joyce (Sindelar - class of '51), two years ago and I miss her very much, just as you will miss Rose.
I always admired all of the achievements that Rose obtained, due to her ambition and hard work. She was a great organizer for gatherings and lunches that we enjoyed together.
You have our deepest sympathy.
