Sharon Spier Obituary

Sharon M Spier

October 5, 1951 - January 31, 2025

Sharon M. Spier, 73, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 31, 2025. She was born in David City to Adolph and Anne Scharf (Tichy). Sharon was a longtime employee of State Farm Insurance. She was a devoted wife of Gary Spier, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership.

Sharon was a dedicated and caring mother to her two children, Jennifer and Gary Jason, who were the light of her life. Her love extended to her cherished grandchildren - Grant, Norah, and Porter - who brought her endless joy and whom she adored beyond measure.

She will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and unwavering love for her family and friends.

Sharon is survived by her husband Gary Spier, daughter Jennifer (Matt) Jonas, son Gary (Kellie) Spier, grandchildren Grant, Norah, Porter, and sister Susan Scharf.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held February 15, 2025 at Isles Reception Hall in Havelock from 11-2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to family who will donate all to designated charities at a later date.

I worked with Sharon at State Farm back in the 90's. My name was Donna Ahl when I worked with Sharon. She always had the sweetest disposition and caring qualities. I know she and her sister, Susan, were very close and I cannot imagine the loss the family is feeling right now. Sending thoughts and prayers to you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Susan and Gary and family. Sharon was one of the nicest people I know having worked with her at State Farm. Also my folks Jack and Joy English were neighbors with you in the circle Gary and thought the same of you and your children. God bless you all.

My prayers and thoughts go out to the family. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together with Sharon as you celebrate her life well lived. She was a pleasure to work with. Now I am retired and always enjoyed seeing her smiling face as I pass her home on my way to mine. She will be missed!

I was Sharon's supervisor at State Farm for a few months, and she was a great employee. She always had a smile on her face and showed a lot of empathy as she dealt with health claims.

To Gary, her family, and her sister Susan, she is at peace, but may our memories of Sharon help sustain us during this challenging time. Lynn and I send our deepest sympathies to all of you, and our prayers continue.
