Simon Rezac Obituary

Simon E. Rezac 84, Lincoln, died Monday (2/25/08). Born in Bee NE (11/08/23) to John and Agnes (Sedlak) Rezac. Graduated from Garland High School. After moving to Lincoln from his family's farm near Garland, he worked for a Dairy Company, then 14 years with Hoppe Lumber Company and then retired from Goodyear after 24 1/2 years. Member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and a member of Lincoln Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #175 for 40 years. He was a Cub Scout Leader for 10 years.
Survivors: wife, Joy C.; son, daughter-in-law, Simon G. and Penny, Lincoln; daughters, sons-in-law Elane and Ronnie Muhlecke, Ashland; Debra Peterson, Lincoln; Cindy and Ronald Foster, Geona; sons, daughter-in-law William L., Lincoln; Ricky and Kathy, Carmel Ind.; daughter, son-in-law Betty and Thomas King, Lincoln. Sister-in-law, Simone Rezac, Denton. Grandchildren; Simon G Rezac Jr, Rachel Rezac, Agnes Rezac, Carl Muhlecke, Dana Muhlecke, Joy Barrier, Ranea Hammad, George Brundage, Ronald Foster II, Helen Foster, Sindi Foster, Jonathan Foster, Charles Foster, Charlotte Kohlman, James Foster, William L Rezac Jr, Charlene Allsman, Quentin King, Carolyn King, Casey King; and 30 Great-Grandchildren; many Nieces, Nephews and Friends. Preceded in death by parents; 2 infant brothers, and John S. Rezac, sisters and brothers-in-law Evangeline and Vernon Draper, Agnes and Mark Rogers.
Services: 1 p.m. Friday (2/29/08), Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2244 N.W. 126th Street, Lincoln, with Pastor Glatha Rathjen officiating. Internment; Lincoln Memorial. Pallbearers: Simon G. Rezac Jr, Dana Muhlecke, George Brundage, Ronald Foster II, William L. Rezac Jr, Quentin King. Honorary pallbearer: Carl Muhlecke. Visitation: Wednesday 5-8 p.m., Thursday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6 p.m.-8 p.m., all at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Friday 1 hour before service at church. Sorry I wasn't able to make the funeral. I've been keeping you all in my prayers. No bond is greater than with a parent and child. I found that out with my own mother, Jeannette. Your father is now with her and I'm sure they are talking up a storm. (Like all Rezac's.) Someday, we will all be reunited with them again. I want to let you know, you are all in my prayers and I love you all.

Aunt Joy and Cousins -- I am so glad that I was able to speak with my Uncle (God Father) several times in the past couple of weeks. We will all miss him terribly. He had a heart bigger than he was.
