Tara Lynn Baugess

Tara Lynn Baugess, 52, passed away August 19, 2021, under CHI "Health at Home" hospice care at The Monarch in Lincoln, NE, after an 18-month battle with cancer. She grew up in Ohio and North Carolina attending Williams High School in Burlington and graduating with honors from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. During an expatriate assignment with her family in Germany, Tara developed a love for other cultures and traveled throughout Europe and Northern Africa. A devout Catholic, Tara attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lincoln.
Tara is survived by her loving partner, Hank Dempsey in Lincoln, her mother Barbara Warner Scarlet of Mebane, NC, her brother Mitchell Baugess of Mebane, NC and her father Elmer Baugess and his wife Anita Baugess of Wake Forest, NC.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 9am to 8pm and the family will be present from 6pm to 8pm at Butherus Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A St., Lincoln, NE. Rosary will be at 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Thursday, August 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3128 S Street Lincoln, NE 68503. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 3880 L St., Lincoln, NE., Father Leo Kosch officiating. Memorials to The Monarch and to CHI Health at Home, both in Lincoln, in lieu of flowers.
