Thomas Halpin Obituary

Thomas Scot Halpin 54, artist and musician, died Saturday (2/9/08). After graduating high school in Iowa, he moved to California. At 19, he played with the Who at the Cow Palace. He was composer in residence at the Headlands Center for the Arts, Sausalito, and played with and composed for several bands.
Scot earned an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts from San Francisco State University. He was the featured artist at the 1998 Plaza Art Fair and illustrated children's books including, "Why Can't I Be the Leader". Over the past ten years, he donated artwork to various Lincoln fundraising events.
Survivors include his wife, Robin and son, James; sisters, Rebecca Koller and Linda Moelter; brother-in-laws, Mark Koller and William Moelter; and nieces and nephews, Heather, Christopher and Amber Moelter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and Richard Halpin and brother, Rick.
A celebration of life will be held Feb. 22 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, Bloomington, Ind.
