Thomas Miller Obituary
February 28, 1932 - February 8, 2025
Thomas L. Miller, "Tom," was born on February 28, 1932, in Columbus, Nebraska, and passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in Lincoln.
A graduate of Kramer High School in Columbus and then the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 1954. He was a member and Treasurer of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity and earned a 2nd Lieutenant commission in the Army.
Tom married Courtney C. Campbell on November 4, 1960, in Lincoln until her passing in 1994. Their children, Todd C. Miller (married to Mary Haggerty) and Alisa A. Miller (married to Jason Artemiuk), with four grandchildren. In 1995, Tom married Norma D. Ruth, and extended family, Larry and Anne Ruth, Katherine and Bagher Tarkian, Michael and Maritza Ruth, Jennifer and Scott Sommerhalder and six grandchildren.
Tom's successful career in insurance began at Chambers-Dobson Insurance and he led the formation of UNICO Group in 1987 and was co-founder, where he retired as Chairman in 1997.
Preceded in death by his wife, Courtney C. Miller; his brother, David P. Miller; and his parents: Laura M. (Brunken) Miller and Leonard S. Miller.
Church service will be held on February 28th, 2025, at 2:00 pm at First Plymouth Church, 2000 D St.
Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on April 13, 2025, at Noon at Wilderness Ridge Country Club, 1800 Wilderness Woods Pl.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship Home of Lincoln and First Plymouth Church in his honor.

Tom was on the board of directors of Friendship Home when I worked there many years ago. He was always thought-full, considerate, kind, wise, and witty. He exhibited a deep passion for providing shelter and supportive services for women and children who had experienced domestic violence. His life had meaning and impacted many.
