Timmothy Meehan Obituary

Not so long ago in a galaxy not so far away on June 25, 1964, in the star system of Lincoln, Nebraska, a new hero was born-Timothy "Tim" Meehan. This beloved soul departed our realm on August 12, 2024, leaving behind a legacy as grand as the stars themselves, at the age of 60.

Tim's journey began in the vibrant Star Port of Lincoln, Nebraska where he attended Southeast High School, graduating with the class of 1982. His early years were filled with wonder, imagination, and adventure, particularly cherished during time spent with cousins in Omaha. He created legendary short films with his cousin Michael, enlisting his siblings as the cast of his cinematic tales, laying the foundation for a life rich in creativity and storytelling. Throughout his youth and adulthood, Tim's passion for video games and Dungeons & Dragons was pivotal to his identity. Known in the gaming realms as "Vilmish," he became a masterful adventurer whose quests fostered joy and camaraderie among his allies, both in virtual realms and at tabletop gaming sessions. His strategic brilliance and fearless spirit made him a hero among friends. Tim's presence was like a beacon in the cosmos-his sweet smile and unique sense of humor illuminated the lives of others. He was deeply loved by his parents, Jane and Chuck Meehan (both deceased), and his eight siblings: Steve, John , Ann, Kelly, Chuck Jr., Ginger (twin sister), and twin brothers Tom and Jim. He is also survived by his 12 adored nieces and nephews, who will forever cherish the memories created with him.

In 1982, Tim and his family relocated to the bustling spaceport of St. Louis, MO, where he thrived and forged lifelong bonds with friends who became his chosen family. Gentry, Chris, Dan, Jim H, Jim Y, Dave, Mike, Paula, Andrew Matt and Brad were his loyal companions, sharing countless adventures together and now carrying forward his infectious enthusiasm and radiant spirit.

Tim was preceded in death by his brother John, who, along with their parents, now watches over him from the stars.

Tim's life was a testament to the power of friendship, imagination, and a heart full of love. His story will continue to be told in the legends shared around gaming tables and cherished in the hearts of those he touched.

A grand celebration of Tim's life will be held by his loyal friends in the Star System of St. Louis, Missouri, at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and recount their favorite tales of Vilmish the Wizard. His Galactic burial will take place in Lincoln, NE, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Tim's name to a charity of your choice. May the Force be with you, always.
